With your little
birdie mouth
And your tiny
pucker lips
You root and turn
and tip and search
For what you
seek - the nips!
And in this dark
and dreamy land
Slumbering cozy
in our nest
The whole outside
world is forgotten
While you and I
snuggle down in rest.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteI just love birth/breastfeeding poetry. Love it.
I love that, so sweet, can totally relate with my little fella in our bed ;)
ReplyDeleteThe thought of exactly this got me through a very long and frustrating second pregnancy. It's one of the most perfect things in the world.
ReplyDeleteAwww! This made me a little weepy - I've been blessed to nurse 3 children (one self-weaned at 2, one at 4 and my youngest is still going strong at 23 months). Rooting is just precious. Thanks for putting words to it. My firstborn is about to have her first. I'm sending this to her :)
ReplyDeleteAwwww! These are definitely precious moments. I used to take pictures of my daughter while she was sleeping too. But now she's already four years old, how time flies! Enjoy being a parent!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteLove this picture...precious. I would also love to write an article on Baby Sign Language for your site if you are interested? Just let me know and I can give you more details.
Thanks,

Misty - we would gladly welcome guest articles on Baby Sign - a wonderful, baby-friendly means of communication that we (so far) do not have an 'expert' writer on the DrMomma staff for. Please email peacefulparents @ gmail.com and we can discuss details.
ReplyDeleteI love that poem! I was wondering, "Who wrote that?" while I read through it. . . . . I'm not surprised. ;-) Lovely.
