My OB Said What?!? "...chewing gum for gays."

The site, My OB Said What?!?, is dedicated to collecting and sharing the (sometimes crazy but true) comments said to birthing women by doctors, midwives, doulas, lactation consultants, and childbirth educators while pregnant or on their birthing day. Occasionally, nurses and others working along side OBs submit a comment that was said to them while at work. Some are laughable. Some are arrogant. Some are myths. Some are hurtful. Some are heterosexist. Some are outright appalling on so many levels:

Recommend against this OB?!

  3. Wow. Usually, even on MOBSW, I can place my sick-sense-of-humor hat on and see how something could come out wrong. But not this one. That's just sick.

  4. There have been some very horrible entries lately. Almost to the point where I cannot "like" My OB Said What anymore. I really hope that the people (this means men, too, guys) who are subjected to this abuse DO SOMETHING about it. Otherwise we'll be reading these entries and preaching to the choir for decades.

  5. If a nursing student gets expelled for taking a picture with a placenta, I hope this doc got reported and publicly flogged for such vile behavior.

  8. An idiotic ER nurse to me after I refused to let her retract my 5 month old's foreskin to give him a catheter for an EAR INFECTION," Oh honey, is this your first? You HAVE to pull it back or it gets stuck!". Seriosuly??? I had a fit and they removed the nurse from the room. It was supposed to tbe the best hospital in Las Vegas....what a joke. They didn't know their you-know-what's from their elbows.

  12. Spoken like a true, Viagra-chomping, fully-concentrating, hoping-he-can-keep-it-hard-enough to-complete-intercourse, victim of infant genital mutilation.

Denial, baby. It is HIS thing. He jokes to keep from weeping. But it is more difficult every year...

  13. Oh my god. This reminds me of when I was interning at a pediatrician's office. We had to witness circumcisions every damn day and one doctor thought it was funny to chase us with the foreskins. We were supposed to run away like little girls on the playground while the babies laid there crying, alone.

I thought that was bad. This asshole trumps that by a million. Get him out of the medical field, stat!

  17. 31 years ago, as I lay unconsious after my baby was pulled from me with forceps, my ob was stitching up the cut he made and asked my husband, "Should I take an extra stitch for you?" My husband said, "No thank you, I like her the way she is."
